A desk-worker's five-minute posture reset
A realistic movement break for your workday.
There is no single perfect sitting posture. The posture you can change often is usually better than one you hold rigidly all day. Use this short reset between calls or focused work blocks.
Minute 1: Change position
Stand up, take ten relaxed steps and let your arms swing. The aim is simply to interrupt the long sitting period.
Minute 2: Shoulder movement
Roll your shoulders slowly backwards five times. Then reach both arms overhead only as far as feels comfortable, breathing normally.
Minute 3: Upper-back rotation
With your arms crossed lightly over your chest, turn your upper body a little to each side. Keep the movement easy rather than forcing range.
Minute 4: Hips and ankles
Hold the desk for balance and perform a few gentle sit-to-stands or heel raises, depending on what suits you.
Minute 5: Reset the workspace
Bring the screen closer if you are leaning forward, support your feet, and place frequently used items within easy reach. Then choose a different comfortable sitting position.
